Accessorize With Style
I don’t actually wear much jewelry. I love it and buy or make new pieces all the time, but when it comes to wearing it, I find that it is mostly uncomfortable. However, I absolutely love designing jewelry. My favorite jewelry pieces are chainmaille pieces and unique/interesting pieces.
I started learning maille work a few years ago when my friend, Anthony (RIP), brought over a necklace he had made for my godson, Erik. It was a spiral chain that I still haven’t mastered. It sparked an interest and after questioning Anthony for hours and reading all the web sites he sent me to, I finally broke down and bought some basic 1/4 inch rings in bright aluminum. And that was it.
Anthony passed away about a year and a half ago and I still have a hard time picking up any of my jewelry supplies without feeling really sad and depressed. This has slowed my jewelry creation, but I know that once I have finished healing, while still sad, I will pick up my pliers again.
