The World Around Me
Photography is probably my oldest love. I remember getting a camera when I was in middle school and loving to take photos of everything. I don’t have most of those now, because I could never afford the film &/or development. In high school, I took a class for one semester but again, I couldn’t afford the film or development to keep up with it.
About 10 years ago, Marsha, Erik & I took a trip to Maymont Park. It is a beautiful park with a zoo including a petting area. I took five rolls of film and Erik took another 3 rolls. I don’t think I ever had any of them developed. A few weeks later, I received my tax return and bought my first digital camera. It was an expensive piece of crap when compared to today’s digital cameras, but I loved that thing. The next weekend, we went back to Maymont Park and I took over 150 pictures. I have never used a manual camera again.
I am not in any way, shape or form a professional photographer. I don’t take my camera with me where ever I go (unless you mean my camera phone). I haven’t taken a photography class since high school. I occasionally read blogs about photography but only once in a while.
I photograph what I like, what intrigues me and what I need for my blog and Artfire shop. I will be sharing some of my favorites here as well as the ones I take for the blog posts. I will be sharing some of my favorite photography and artwork by others as well.
